Our Brief:
Our aim at UNB Health is to cultivate an environment in which vulnerable members of society are able to live independent lives in which they can remain happy, autonomous and fulfilling lives. The role of a support worker is extremely rewarding as support workers provide emotional and practical support tailored to the needs of the client, in turn improving their quality of life. The role is based in a diverse range of settings such as care homes, day centres, and independent supported living home. Our clients have different support needs ranging from learning disabilities to physical disabilities and medical conditions.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily tasks such as shopping, household duties and the preparation of meals
- Offer practical support including helping with personal care, maintaining effective hygiene, performing light housekeeping, moving and handling, helping with administrative task, helping with finance
- Monitor healthcare needs and support with administering medication
- Understand the communication needs of the client and be able to adapt to best suit their ability
- Supporting them in learning new skills
- Support individuals in the interests and hobbies
